Greene County Tourism sponsored Family Resorts campaigns in both 2009 and 2010 to encourage families to enjoy old-fashioned vacation fun of the more than 10 classic family-style resorts in the Northern Catskills Mountains county. Because of its 2-hour proximity to New York City, the on-line and limited print media push was NY and Northern New Jersey focused, but due to its web-based nature, it was capable of drawing a wider family audience as well.

The campaign consistently became the number one driver of web traffic to the county’s tourism web site. The integrated campaign included family tourism site banner ads, Google AdWords PPC, paid editorial content on popular family-focused tourism sites, print ad placement in tourism-themed editorial sections of Manhattan, New Jersey and greater Hudson Valley publications. A social media component was also used in both years, which added to the traffic numbers and increased inquiries within the resort community.
